Jeff Meldrim, President/Owner

Jeff joined Lightning Electric in April 1998 with over 25 years of experience, many in business and construction, and a Bachelor’s degree from Liberty University. Serving as Vice President since 2005, he led all operations and administrative functions with excellence. Jeff earned his Certification from the State of Florida and is the qualifier for the company. Since becoming the owner, he continues to provide the strategic leadership necessary to accelerate future growth in line with his vision for providing superior service for all customers.

Nichelle Meldrim, Vice President/Owner

Nichelle brings over 25 years of business and accounting experience and a Bachelor’s degree from Northwood University to Lightning Electric. Experience across various industries allows her to be an asset on multiple project areas including accounting, insurance, loss control, contract review, and human resources.

Al Egan, Operations Manager

Al began working in the electrical industry in 1984 and obtained his Journeyman’s license in 1996. For 5 years Al served as an instructor at the apprenticeship school in the evenings after working during the day. Al has a thorough knowledge of the National Electric Code and is an integral leader in all types of projects including commercial buildings, high-end homes, as well as managing service teams. His passion for what he does shows up in the high quality outcome of his work. Al is an expert in achieving project goals by managing day-to-day operations of estimating and project management.

Tom Drake, Project Manager

Tom has 28 years’ experience in the electrical industry and joined Lightning Electric in 1999 as a Service Technician. In 2003, Tom moved into the office as the Service Manager and obtained his Journeyman’s license in 2004. He is well known for his attention to detail and is an expert in Level 5, high-end home renovations and additions. Tom is also skilled in designing and managing high-end landscape lighting projects. His work ethic and dedication to customers has served a vital role at Lightning for many years.

Purcell Drummond, Service Manager

Purcell has been in the electrical trade for 20 years and earned his Journeyman’s license 15 years ago.  He is also certified in Lutron Radio RA lighting programming and installation.  His career with Lightning started in 2003, providing excellent customer experiences on all jobs.  Purcell has experience performing and leading commercial, residential, and industrial electrical work, as well as serving as Vice President for another electrical contractor.  His passion for quality and superior customer service makes him an asset, regularly exceeding customers’ expectations.

Eddie Vazquez, Industrial Division Manager

Eddie has worked in the electrical trade since 1986.  In 1995 he completed his apprenticeship and obtained his county license.  With extensive experience in the industrial and heavy commercial field, Eddie has led construction teams in building industrial projects throughout South Florida including specializing in construction of water utilities, pharmaceutical production, concrete plants, sugar mills, data centers, and power plants.  In addition, Eddie is highly skilled at instrumentation, controls, and electrical distribution systems.  He has a clear passion for his work and providing excellent customer experiences.

Jim Boone, Low Voltage Division Manager

Jim has over 22 years in heavy industrial, commercial, and residential construction.  After attending Michigan State University, Jim has been in the fire alarm and low voltage arena since 2003.  He has managed and worked on innumerable types of projects including nuclear power house facilities, country clubs, homeland security offices, postal facilities, and commercial and residential properties.  Jim’s experience, knowledge of NFPA code, and fire alarm/low voltage systems along with his dedication to life safety pushes him to exceed customer expectations.

Paul Crawford, Estimator/Project Manager

Paul began his career in the electrical field in 1970 as an apprentice and earned his Journeyman’s license in 1974. Paul has acquired a vast background in the electrical industry including multi-story commercial buildings, DOT toll plazas, churches, airport hangars, industrial buildings, health centers, office complexes, and as a service manager overseeing and coordinating a fleet of service trucks. Paul is currently heavily involved in estimating as well as managing projects. He does an excellent job ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

Dottie Conner, Office Manager

Dottie has acquired 45 years of experience in the business and accounting field, over half in the construction industry. She spent 12 years as a General Contracting business owner and has been an integral part of Lightning Electric for 13 years. She oversees all administrative functions of the office and maintains accurate and detailed records, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and project requirements.
